Our Visit with Author Douglas Wood

"Mitakuye Oyasin", Doug Wood told an attentive group of 3rd and 4th graders as he taught them an important saying from the Dakota Native Americans, "All my relations."  His message was loud and clear.  We are all related to everything around us, and the sooner we realize that we are related to all of the trees, lakes, and animals on earth, the sooner we will start taking better care of Mother Earth and our fellow human beings.

The roaming reporter of room 301 wanted to investigate his message further by interviewing a few of the participants at the big event.  "What was the most important message you learned from Douglas Wood?"

  1. It was nice to see Douglas Woods in person. I liked how he explained the stories he told and asked us if we understood them.
